The 1st Summit of the Turkic World Ski Resorts Union Was Held at Shahdag Ski Resort under the Auspices of the Organization of Turkic States
The 1st Summit of the Turkic World Ski Resorts Union was successfully held at Shahdag Ski Resort, one of Azerbaijan’s premier winter tourism destinations. Representing Türkiye, Uludağ Ski Resort participated in the summit as a founding member.
Attending on behalf of Uludağ were Burak Beceren, representing the Board of Directors, and Oğuz Sönmez, Social Media Coordinator. Erciyes Ski Resort (represented by Director Zafer Akşehiroğlu and Marketing Manager Mehmet Budak) and Palandöken Ski Resort (represented by Business Development Manager Ahmet İstanbullu) also officially joined the Union and participated in the summit.
The summit hosted representatives from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Discussions focused on strengthening winter tourism cooperation among Turkic countries, extending tourism beyond the winter season to a full 12 months, and developing joint projects.
One of the most notable outcomes of the summit was the decision to introduce a unified loyalty card for tourists, valid at all member ski resorts. Through this card, visitors will benefit from bonuses, discounts, and personalized offers across all participating resorts. Additionally, a joint seasonal pass valid across all Union resorts will also be implemented.
All these initiatives will be supported by an integrated digital platform developed for both individual travelers (B2C) and tour operators and travel agencies (B2B). This platform, which includes updated maps, tour information, pricing, routes, and promotions within a user-friendly interface, is already being tested in several Turkish ski resorts.
Successfully hosted by Shahdag, the summit marked a significant step toward deeper collaboration and the creation of integrated tourism models among ski resorts in the Turkic world.
