Organization of Turkic States Ski Resorts Union Met on Uludağ
Representatives of the Ski Resorts Union under the Organization of Turkic States gathered on Uludağ to strengthen cooperation in winter tourism.
Representatives of the Ski Resorts Union, operating under the umbrella of the Organization of Turkic States, came together at a programme held on Uludağ. The meeting aimed to strengthen regional cooperation in winter tourism, create promotional synergy between destinations and develop joint projects in sports tourism.
At the “Winter Tourism Vision” panel – part of a programme of meetings, panels, technical assessments and sporting events – participants discussed the development potential of winter tourism in the Turkic world, sustainable destination management, international event capacity and joint promotional strategies.
During the events held on February 16–19, athletes from different parts of the Turkic world came together on the slopes; a ski race was also organized as part of the “Unifying Power of Sport” programme.
Union Secretary-General Orhan Badalov said they want to strengthen the union through sporting and cultural events, noting that they had organized numerous events throughout the year in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and aim to grow the union further.
